Mark de Weger studeerde eind jaren tachtig af aan de fotovakschool van Apeldoorn.
In 2011 won hij de cultuurprijs gedurende een Dijk van Kunst en Cultuur te Eemnes. In 2013 won hij in samenwerking met het Kunstenaarscollectief Parakwadraat de publieksprijs gedurende ditzelfde evenement.
Mark de Weger richt zich voornamelijk op landschap-, en architectuurfotografie.
Het gebied rond Amersfoort is vaak zijn werkterrein. Zijn beelden in zwart- wit, in combinatie met lange sluitertijden, geven een krachtige compositie en een dynamisch effect.
Regelmatig maakt hij een uitstap met Parakwadraat.
Parakwadraat is een zoektocht van de Arnhemse kunstenaar Han Halewijn en Mark de Weger naar de nieuwe vormen van expressie buiten de reeds bestaande doorzichtigheid. Gebruikte gereedschappen zijn aan de tijd gerelateerd en aangevuld. Met humor wordt de passieve toeschouwer bevrijd en creëren ze fotografische reflecties op het leven.
Mark de Weger is lid van het Keistad Foto Collectief welke actief is in het Eemklooster te Amersfoort.
Mark de Weger graduated from the photography school in Apeldoorn in the late eighties.
In 2011 he won the culture prize during a Dyke of Art and Culture in Eemnes. In 2013, he won the public award during the same event in collaboration with the Artist Collective Parakwadraat.
Mark de Weger mainly focuses on landscape and architecture photography.
The area around Amersfoort is often his field of activity. His images in black and white, in combination with slow shutter speeds, give a powerful composition and a dynamic effect.
He regularly takes a trip with Parakwadraat.
Parakwadraat is a quest by the Arnhem artist Han Halewijn and Mark de Weger for new forms of expression beyond the already existing transparency. Tools used are related to time and supplemented. With humour, the passive spectator is liberated and they create photographic reflections on life.
